Microcarbon ferro-chromium and high carbon ferro-chromium are used separately

The smelting methods of micro - carbon ferrochrome include electric silicon thermal method, thermal mixing method, etc. It is mainly used to improve the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of steel, so that the surface of steel forms a layer of highly attached oxide film in the oxidation atmosphere, and then the oxidation stops or the oxidation speed slows down. Microcarbon ferrochrome is mainly used in the production of stainless steel, wear and heat resistant steel.

High carbon ferro-chrome (including ferro-chrome) main uses are:

  1. Used as an alloying agent for circulating bead steel, tool steel and high speed steel with high carbon content, to improve the hardenability, wear resistance and hardness of steel.

  2. Used as an additive in cast iron to improve the grinding property and hardness of cast iron, and make cast iron have good heat resistance.

  3. Used as raw material for producing Si-Cr alloy, medium, low and micro carbon ferrochrome and chromium by slag-free method.

  4. Used as raw material containing chromium in electrolysis production of metal chromium.

  5. Used as raw material for smelting stainless steel by oxygen blowing.

Smelting process of high carbon ferrochrome: smelting methods of high carbon ferrochrome are blast furnace method, electric furnace method, plasma method, melting reduction method, etc.
