Utilization of high carbon ferrochrome alloy slag

Melting point of high carbon ferrochrome is about 1550℃. In order to discharge slag and iron smoothly, the molten iron in actual production should be superheated at 100℃, so the melting point of slag should be 1650℃. If the slag melting point is low, the temperature in the furnace is also low, the slag can be discharged at this time, but the hot metal is difficult to discharge because of the small superheat, there is less iron slag phenomenon, serious only slag out of iron, which causes a great loss.

High carbon ferrochrome slag is a kind of high quality basalt-like building material. It will be processed with all kinds of concrete, with other stone does not have the advantages. The high carbon ferrochrome alloy slag is processed into gravel, which has the characteristics of high strength and especially rough surface. High carbon ferrochrome slag gravel, in the case of water absorption and porosity its strength will be greater than limestone, and similar to basalt.

The slag of high carbon ferrochrome alloy has holes and good strength, which is conducive to absorbing the deformation caused by heat release in the hardening process of concrete. High carbon ferrochrome slag gravel has a good anti - alkali aggregate reaction. So: high carbon ferrochrome slag after processing is undoubtedly a good building material, is a new type of building materials.
