Silicon Calcium alloy is a composite alloy composed of elemental silicon, calcium and iron, which is a more ideal compound deoxidizer and desulphurizer. It is widely used in the production of high quality steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel and other steel grades and special alloys such as nickel-based alloys and titanium-based alloys; it is also suitable for use as a warming agent in the converter steel workshop; it can also be used as a breeding agent for cast iron and an additive in the production of ductile iron.
Uses.
Calcium and silicon both have a strong affinity with oxygen. Calcium, in particular, has a very strong affinity not only for oxygen, but also for sulphur and nitrogen. Therefore, silicon calcium alloy is a more ideal compound gum oxygen agent and desulphurising agent. Silicon alloy is not only strong deoxidation ability, deoxidation products are easy to float, easy to discharge, but also can improve the performance of steel, improve the plasticity, impact toughness and fluidity of steel. Currently calcium silica alloys can replace aluminium for final deoxidation. It is used in high quality steels. Special steels and special alloys are produced. For example, rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel and other steel grades and nickel-based alloys, titanium-based alloys and other special alloys, can be used as silicon calcium alloy deoxidizer. Silicon calcium alloys are also suitable for use as warming agents in converter steel workshops. Silicon Calcium alloys can also be used as inoculants in cast iron and as additives in the production of ductile iron.
This standard applies to silicon calcium alloys used as compound deoxidants and as inoculants in the production of cast iron.
