What is a siliconmanganese alloy

Siliconmanganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements, is a more versatile and large production of iron alloy. The consumption of siliconmanganese alloys is the second highest of all electric furnace ferroalloy products. The silicon and manganese in siliconmanganese alloys have a strong affinity for oxygen, and the use of siliconmanganese alloys in steelmaking produces deoxidation products such as MnSiO3 and MnSiO4, which have the advantages of low melting point, large particles, easy floating and good deoxidation effect. In the same conditions using manganese or silicon alone deoxygenation, its burn rate is 46% and 37%, respectively, while the use of silicon-manganese alloy deoxygenation, the burn rate of the two is 29%. Therefore, it has been widely used in steelmaking, and its production growth rate is higher than the average growth rate of ferroalloys, becoming an indispensable compound deoxidizer and alloying agent for the steel industry. Siliconmanganese alloys containing less than 1.9% carbon are also used to produce semi-finished products for the production of low and medium carbon ferromanganese and electro-silicon-thermal manganese metal. In the ferroalloy production enterprises, usually the silicon manganese alloy used in steelmaking is called commercial silicon manganese alloy, smelting low-carbon iron using silicon manganese alloy called self-use silicon manganese alloy, smelting metal with silicon manganese alloy called high silicon manganese alloy. MnSiO3, MnSiO and MnSiO3 can be chemically synthesized into silicides with silicones, because the negative value of the free energy generated by the silicides of manganese is much greater than the negative value of the free energy produced by the carbon of manganese, the higher the silicon content in the silicon-manganese alloy, the lower the carbon content.
