What is the application of ferroalloy in casting? Let's introduce:

Ferroalloys are used as inoculants for steel-making nuclei in the foundry industry. One of the measures to change the properties of cast iron and cast steel is to change the solidification conditions of castings. In order to change the solidification conditions, some ferroalloys are often added as crystal nuclei before casting to form grain centers, so that the formed graphite becomes fine, dispersed and refined, so as to upgrade the properties of castings. Ferroalloy can also be selected as reducing agent for steelmaking. Silicon alloy is used as reducing agent for making ferromolybdenum, ferrovanadium and other ferroalloys respectively, and silicon chromium alloy and manganese silicon alloy are used as reducing agent for making medium and low carbon ferromanganese respectively. In non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical industry, ferroalloy is also more and more widely selected. For example, medium and low carbon ferromanganese is used to make welding electrodes; Silicon aluminum alloy is used to produce silicon aluminum bright master alloy; Ferrochromium is used as anode material for the production of chromium compounds and chromium plating, and some ferroalloys are used as high temperature resistant materials.
