Application of manganese silicon briquette in steel making process
The alloy used in steelmaking is a qualified block made from natural block by mechanical processing, these alloys will produce a certain amount of 0~5mm powder due to the impact during transportation, most of these powders are sucked away by the dust collector at the top of the converter and escaped in the air; the other part cannot enter the steel due to thermal radiation and other factors during the steelmaking process. In order to save this part of raw materials, Shandong Iron and Steel Group Jigang in the alloy into the steelmaking silo before the steelmaking site to add a set of alloy sieving device, so that the qualified size of the alloy into the silo, the sieved alloy powder collected in a special container, and then the alloy powder again sieved, sieved into 3mm ~ 5mm particles and 0 ~ 3mm alloy powder. The alloy particles of 3mm~5mm are remelted in the medium frequency electric furnace, and the original composition of manganese silicon is maintained because no other materials are added during the remelting process. The physical and chemical indexes meet the requirements of manganese-silicon indexes after the chemical test. Then the 0~3mm alloy powder is pressed into shape and processed into regenerated manganese silicon briquette according to certain quality requirements, and after processing, it is sent to steel making instead of manganese silicon for recycling.
The author studied the three major alloys used in steelmaking of Jigang---high-carbon ferromanganese, manganese-silicon alloy and ferrosilicon. After sieving, regenerated manganese and silicon briquette products are made, and the sieved high-carbon ferromanganese powder and ferrosilicon powder are used as the main raw materials for adjusting the composition, and the main composition of the products is Mn55%~60%, Si17%~21%, and other components remain unchanged with the original alloy, and the particle size is 20mm~60mm, which has been successfully tested by production, and can completely replace the manganese and silicon alloy with the same composition and the same quantity, which can not only Reduce the pollution of the environment, improve the sustainable development of enterprises, realize the circular economy, but also can reduce the annual cost of about 25 million yuan for enterprises.
