Ferrosilicon: silicon and oxygen are easily combined to form silicon dioxide. It is made of coke, steel scrap and quartz by electric furnace smelting. It is commonly used as deoxidizer in steelmaking. It is widely used in low alloy layout steel, bonded steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel. At the same time, due to the large amount of heat released during the generation of SiO2, it is also beneficial to improve the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing. Ferrosilicon is used as alloying element additive. Ferrosilicon is commonly used as reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry. What are the characteristics of ferrosilicon production method? Anyang yuchengxin ferroalloy introduces:
The so-called continuous operation method is to melt continuously after the furnace charge bears the high temperature, so that the material surface changes correspondingly; At the same time, new charge is added continuously, and the charge in the furnace is always full. It is released regularly according to the amount of alloy melted and accumulated in the furnace. In the whole smelting process, the electrode is deeply inserted into the charge and does not expose the arc, so the heat loss is less and the furnace temperature is high.
Due to these characteristics of ferrosilicon smelting, the whole smelting process is not divided into stages, which is called continuous operation method. It is also useful to smelt ferrosilicon in blast furnace. However, due to its low furnace temperature and the silicon content of the product is about 10 ~ 20%, the smelting of ferrosilicon by blast furnace method is not accepted as usual.
