Some ferrosilicon will have ferrosilicon pulverization because some components of ferrosilicon sometimes encounter water or excessive air humidity during storage, and the content of aluminum, calcium and phosphorus impurities is high, which will produce pulverization after a certain time. So how can we stop the occurrence of ferrosilicon pulverization? Ferrosilicon suppliers summarize the following three points, hoping to help you.

First, from the aspect of raw materials, strengthen the acceptance of coke powder, increase the inspection frequency, and eliminate unqualified raw materials. Pay attention to and test the mining samples of the silica supplier, ensure the long-term and stability of low phosphorus silica input from the source, screen the incoming steel chips and prevent the cast iron chips from entering the furnace.

Secondly, from the operation and pouring links. Strengthen management measures, strictly add the return iron, and eliminate the mold cushion behavior of the return iron. Gradually replace the original narrow ingot mold, adopt wide ingot mold, increase the cooling measures of molten iron, and speed up the cooling and solidification of ingot. After taking the measures of tapping slag retaining, forced water-cooled ingot mold and pouring with a thickness of < 80cm, the surface quality of ingot is improved and the segregation of Si in alloy is reduced.

From the aspects of finishing warehousing and storage, strengthen the management measures of finishing warehousing, ensure the warehousing of qualified ferrosilicon, and do a good job in the prevention of rainy season. The thickness of ferrosilicon ingot is not easy to be too thick to reduce the segregation of ferrosilicon silicon content. Strictly control the silicon content of ferrosilicon, not too low. To control the aluminum, phosphorus and calcium content of ferrosilicon, better raw materials should be used, especially coke with high ash content should not be used, so as to reduce the aluminum and phosphorus content. In order to reduce the calcium content of ferrosilicon, the addition of lime should be minimized during smelting. Only by clarifying these, can we put an end to the phenomenon of ferrosilicon pulverization.
