Hazard of electrolytic manganese slag
Electrolytic manganese enterprises not only bring GDP growth to the local area, but also bring serious environmental pollution problems. The wastes stored in the electrolytic manganese slag field also cause harm to the environment in many ways. The harm to the environment is:
(1) Dissolved manganese slag is a waste residue produced by multiple pressure filtration, which is an extremely small particle. And manganese slag after a large number of impurity removal still contains iron hydroxide colloid, these colloid makes the water in electrolytic manganese slag is difficult to completely press filtration, which is also a reason for the high moisture content of electrolytic manganese slag. The residual soluble heavy metal ions mainly include ammonia-containing nitrogen, manganese, mercury, arsenic, etc., which will enter the soil through water circulation and further enter the biosphere and harm human beings.
(2) Nitrogen, ammonia and sulfate exceed the standard. Sampling test was conducted on the surface, groundwater and sediment at the bottom of the river near an electrolytic manganese enterprise. The data showed that the contents of nitrogen, ammonia and sulfate were all over the standard, causing serious water pollution.
