Brief introduction

Alloy cored wire has a wide range of applications in steelmaking and casting processes, including purifying molten steel, improving inclusion morphology, increasing alloy yield, reducing alloy consumption and steelmaking costs.

Use

Application of alloy cored wire in steelmaking

Alloy cored wire is mainly used in steelmaking for the following purposes:

Purification of molten steel: By adding deoxidizers and desulfurizers, impurities in the molten steel are removed to improve its purity.

Improving the morphology of inclusions: By adding elements such as calcium, long strip-shaped sulfide inclusions can be avoided, thereby improving the anisotropy of steel.

Improving the yield of alloys: Alloy cored wire can significantly increase the yield of alloys, reduce alloy consumption, and thus lower steelmaking costs.

Refining and precision casting: changing inclusions, alloying, and purifying molten steel to improve the quality of cast iron and steel, reduce casting and steelmaking costs, and increase economic benefits.

Application of Alloy Core Wire in Casting

During the casting process, alloy cored wire is mainly used for the following purposes:

Preventing nodules: By adding elements such as silicon, calcium, and barium, nodules in continuous casting can be prevented, while deoxidation and desulfurization are carried out.

Improving the morphology of inclusions: By adding elements such as calcium, the morphology of inclusions can be improved and the quality of cast iron can be enhanced.

Improving economic benefits: By optimizing the use of alloys, reducing alloy consumption, and significantly improving economic benefits.

Types and Applications of Alloy Core Wire

Alloy cored wires can be classified into various types based on their usage and composition:

Carbon core wire: used to adjust the carbon composition of molten steel.

Sulfur core wire: used for easy cutting steel.

Calcium core wire: used for deep deoxidation and improving the morphology of inclusions.

Silicon calcium barium wire: used for deoxygenation and desulfurization.

Silicon calcium wire: prevent continuous casting nodules and perform deoxidation.

Titanium wire: used for deoxidation and composition adjustment of stainless steel.

Aluminum wire: used for deoxidation.

Rare earth magnesium wire: used for spheroidization treatment 2.

Advantages and disadvantages of alloy core wire

The advantages of alloy core wire include:

Smooth and uniform reaction: When processing molten iron, the reaction is smooth and uniform, avoiding secondary oxidation and achieving automation.

Effective control of composition: Effectively control the composition of molten iron to ensure stable absorption rate of alloy elements in steel.

Reduce costs: Reduce alloy consumption to lower costs while improving the working environment.

There is currently no clear description of the drawbacks.
