Brief introduction
Rare earth magnesium silicon cored wire is a linear composite material made by mixing rare earth elements (RE), magnesium (Mg), and silicon (Si) alloy powders in specific proportions and encapsulating them in cold-rolled steel strips. This material is directly added to molten steel through wire feeding technology, enabling precise composition adjustment and steel purification. It has become an indispensable functional material in modern steelmaking.
The typical chemical composition of rare earth magnesium silicon cored wire includes:
Rare earth elements (RE): 4–12% (mainly light rare earths such as Ce and La)
Magnesium (Mg): 5–15%
Silicon (Si): 35–50%
Calcium (Ca): 1–5%
Iron (Fe): Balance
