What distinction do ferrosilicon and ferromanganese have?
The difference is that ferrosilicon is an alloy of silicon and iron, while ferro is an alloy of manganese and iron.
Ferromanganese:
A ferroalloy of manganese and iron.
Main classification: high carbon ferromanganese (containing 7% carbon), medium carbon ferromanganese (containing 1.0~1.5% carbon), low carbon ferromanganese (containing 0.5% carbon), metal manganese, ferric mirror, silicon manganese alloy.
Ferrosilicon:
It's an alloy of iron and silicon.
Application: widely used in low alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel, ferrosilicate in the production of ferroalloy and chemical industry, commonly used as reducing agent.
