The purpose and use points of recarburizer

Just like the name of the recarburizer, it is a product used to increase carbon (C) and is used in many industries. Adding a recarburizer during steelmaking can effectively improve the hardness and wear resistance of the steel, but if improper use causes excessive carbon elements in the steel, it will also affect the quality of the steel. The recarburizer is used in casting, which can greatly increase the amount of scrap steel, reduce the amount or use pig iron. In the feeding method of electric furnace smelting, the recarburizer should be put in with the scrap steel and other charge, and small doses can be added to the surface of the molten iron. However, it is necessary to avoid large batches of materials in the molten iron to prevent excessive oxidation and the occurrence of insignificant recarburization effects and insufficient carbon content of the castings.

If the recarburizer is added too early, it will easily adhere to the bottom of the furnace, and the recarburizer adhering to the furnace wall is not easy to be dissolved into iron. On the contrary, if the recarburizer is added too late, the recarburizer will be lost. Timing causes slow smelting and heating time. This not only prolongs the time of chemical composition analysis and adjustment, but also may bring harm caused by excessive heating of ferroalloys. Therefore, the effect of adding the recarburizer little by little during the process of adding the metal charge will be better. For example, in the case that the amount of one-time addition is too large, it can be combined with the molten iron overheating operation used in the induction electric furnace to ensure that the absorption time of the recarburizer in the molten iron is 10 Min. On the one hand, electromagnetic stirring is used to fully diffuse and absorb the recarburizer to ensure the absorption effect. On the other hand, it can reduce the nitrogen content in the recarburizer.

Under normal circumstances, the recarburizer should not be added at once, but added in batches. After melting, add a part, put a part (about one pack) of molten iron into the ladle, and then add the recarburizer 1-2 times in the blast furnace, then slag and add alloy. The adding method is wrong, and the recarburizer is added in layers. Avoid adding too much slag to the molten iron mirror, and try not to use too much rust material.
