For ferrochromium in converters, the temperature is higher, usually between 1723 and 1873K. The chromium content of the molten iron is higher than 60%, the silicon content is not more than 1.5%, and the sulfur content is less than 0.036%. Ferrochromium is used as a slag-making material. The content of SiO3 in chromium ore is required to be low. The content of MgO and Al2O3 can be appropriately higher, and its viscosity cannot be too large.
Lime is also used as a slagging material, and its requirements are the same as those of the electric silicon thermal method. Silicon chromium alloy is used to reduce high chromium slag in the later stage of blowing. Generally, silicon chromium alloy powder under the sieve after crushing can be used.
