How to control the dosage of inoculant? Let's learn:

(1) Nodular cast iron generally has more inoculant than gray cast iron.

(2) If the pouring time of molten iron after inoculation treatment is long, the addition amount should be increased due to inoculation recession.

(3) Thin wall castings are prone to white spots, and the amount of inoculant should be increased accordingly.

(4) When there is a lot of molten slag in molten iron, the amount of inoculant will increase accordingly because it will be wrapped and difficult to melt once it contacts with the slag.

(4) Excessive addition of inoculant will lead to excessive slag, reduction of molten iron temperature and shrinkage cavity produced by eutectic. If the inoculant block is too large, it will not inoculate the molten iron evenly, and the unfused inoculant will be poured into the mold cavity; If the block is too small, it is easy to oxidize and cause slag, and incubation recession is also easy to occur.
