Development of new varieties of cored wire
In order to meet the market demand for steel refining process outside the furnace, reduce the cost of feeding the calcium treatment process of the core wire, develop new varieties of core wire, expand the scope of application of core wire in steel, and establish enterprise standards for new varieties of core wire.
(1) pure calcium cored wire: in order to meet the need to maximize the addition of calcium to the steel, in order to improve the calcium yield in the steel, improve the efficiency of calcium treatment and reduce production costs, in recent years a company has introduced a pure calcium cored wire called "Hi-Cal", which is also said to be fed into the melt from the surface using a common wire feeder. Depending on the specific configuration, calcium recovery rates of 40-50% can be achieved; spattering on the melt surface can be significantly reduced, reducing ladle headroom requirements and enabling better utilization of ladle capacity for low silicon cold rolled steel. At the same time, because the feeding volume of pure calcium cored wire is reduced, the reduction of steel temperature caused by feeding wire is reduced, the process processing time of feeding wire is shortened, and the process cost of feeding wire is reduced, so pure calcium cored wire has a strong competitive advantage.
The use of ladle feeding metal calcium line method to produce low silicon steel, ultra-low sulfur steel, easy-to-cut steel, etc., can improve the calcium yield, can reduce costs, there is a certain degree of superiority and high economic and social benefits.
(2) steel nitrogen with core line: high alloy nitrogen-containing steel (such as austenitic stainless steel) to nitrogen instead of nickel, in order to accurately control the nitrogen content of steel, the need for a new increase in nitrogen-containing manganese iron, manganese nitride, nitrogen iron and other core line varieties.
