Brief introduction
Silicon powder is a micron- or nano-sized powder produced by crushing, grinding, or vapor deposition of high-purity silicon. Its chemical formula is Si, and it appears as a gray-black powder. The particles are extremely fine (typically 1–100 microns, with nanoparticles being smaller than 100 nm) and exhibit a high melting point (1414°C), high hardness (Mohs hardness of 7), and semiconductor properties. Silicon powder readily oxidizes on the surface, forming a silicon dioxide layer, and must be stored in an inert environment.
